
Miles Quarterman
Miles joined NSBHF as a paralegal in 2025, after graduating from Yale University with a B.A. in Political Science with distinction and certificate in Energy Studies. At Yale, Miles was Chair of the Progressive Party in the Yale Political Union (YPU), an executive board member of the YPU, a research assistant for Professor Jacob Hacker at the Yale Institution for Social and Policy Studies, a senior legislative fellow with the Yale College Democrats, a member of the Moot Court Brief Writing Team, a fellow of the Peace Dialogue and Leadership Initiative, and a First-Year Outdoor Orientation Trip leader. Miles’ senior thesis focused on the impact of the Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo (2024) landmark SCOTUS decision which overturned the Chevron Doctrine. The thesis assesses the differential impact of the decision across various policy areas.
Before working at NSBHF, Miles was a legislative intern at the Legal Services Corporation, advocating for congressionally funded grants that provide civil legal representation to low income individuals, a digital strategy intern in the Energy and Environment Department of the Center for American Progress, and a legislative intern in the Office of Representative Hakeem Jeffries.
