NSB wins settlement for family of teenage jail death victim Victoria Herr

In August 2018, NSB won a $4.75 million settlement for the estate of 18-year-old Victoria Herr, who died from complications of heroin withdrawal after five days in the Lebanon County, Pennsylvania jail. Consistent with a devastating pattern around the country, the jail’s correctional and medical staff ignored her deteriorating condition and failed to take the simple steps that would have saved her life. The lawsuit exposed Lebanon County’s indifference to the medical needs of the many victims of central Pennsylvania’s opiate and opioid crisis who wind up in jail.

Ms. Herr’s estate is represented by NSB partner Emma Freudenberger and associate Rick Sawyer along with co-counsel Jon Feinberg of Kairys, Rudovsky, Messing, Feinberg & Lin, LLP.
