NSB negotiates an unprecedented $14 million settlement against the City of St. Louis and the State of Missouri on behalf of the family of NSB client George Allen
In December 2017, NSB negotiated an unprecedented $14 million settlement against the City of St. Louis and the State of Missouri on behalf of the family of NSB client George Allen, who passed away in 2016. Mr. Allen was wrongfully convicted of the 1982 rape and murder of a St. Louis court reporter. The settlement was reached after NSB demonstrated the existence of egregious misconduct at the St. Louis Police Department’s crime laboratory.
Mr. Allen’ family is represented by NSB partners Barry Scheck, Nick Brustin, and Emma Freudenberger, and fellow Katie McCarthy.
